Sunday Brunch for Arts Education

Arts Alive hosted our first mixer on Sunday, April 8 in the form of a Sunday brunch.  The sun was shining on the “hacienda”, home of current Board Chairperson, Joe Castro.  The Board of Directors hosted over 35 guests – including friends, family and alumni of the 18-year old nonprofit.

A traditional Hawaiian dance presented by Miss Toni Pasion welcomed guests as they arrived.  Board members welcomed friends to partake in a warm meal of food varying from authentic chile relleno to a delightful spread of breakfast breads.

The morning went on to welcome two Arts Alive teaching artists and professional musicians, Corey Watkins and Desiree Glover who warmed the crowd with jazz favorites.  Sponsor, the Wallis Annenberg and Porta Via Beverly Hills raffle was awarded to longtime friend of Arts Alive and the event slowly came to a close with gracious news about Arts Alive’s achievements and goals and a special performance from the adorable duo of Jake Spear and wife/Arts Alive board member, Jenna Spear.

Guests are asked to complete a survey of the event here.

The Board of Directors of Kings & Clowns “Arts Alive” invites you to join us for a Sunday Brunch
at the residence of Joe Castro. Joe opens his lovely home to us to celebrate and support arts education through Arts Alive.

At 11:30am we will have refreshments followed by a fresh brunch with support from
local markets and vendors. Enjoy live music from our very own!

Reserve your plate for $20. All proceeds raised from this event will support Arts Alive’s after-school programs
and provide scholarships for children in the communities of South LA, Downtown LA, Harbor City, Inglewood, Gardena, Hawthorne, and Torrance.
