Debbie moved to LA sixteen years ago and has worked extensively in colleges and schools around the area. Grounded in the classics, she holds qualifications with LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) together with a BA and MA in Theatre and Educational Drama. She believes every school age student should have access to quality music and arts training and to that end, she formed Kings and Clowns in 1999 and Arts Alive in 2004.
Jennifer Anderson has a wide experience teaching woodwind and guitar students of all ages under the master teacher Phil Sobel, whose legacy she continues. She performs in different venues ranging from theatres to rock clubs. She played on a wide range of recordings including Chester Whitmore’s Opus One to Texas Terri Bomb. Miss Jennifer attended San Francisco Art Institute and is a fine artist also.
Sofya Ershova grew up in Russia, where she began her training with Contemporary Ballet Theater “Steps”. She extensively trained in ballet, modern, contemporary and jazz. After successfully touring in Russia, Sofya participated in various modern dance competitions across Japan. Sofya took part in an International dance program at Broadway Dance Center where she trained in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Hip-Hop and Street Jazz. Sofya is an accomplished dancer and teacher and has led several through several successful dance competitions.
Mr. Patrick earned his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at Pepperdine University while studying classical and rock guitar at the university level. He continued his education at the Musicians’ Institute through 2013 and now performs as a guitarist and bassist in rock, jazz and praise worship bands throughout LA.
Ori grew up in Israel and after completing his service, he pursued his passion for music and music education. He completed his degree in music education in Israel with a joint program of two schools. He has been teaching rock and jazz guitar since then. He is both a professional guitarist and teaches around the South Bay and Los Angeles area in private, group, and rock band settings.
Born in Southern California, pianist Yumi Hashimoto has performed as a soloist, collaborative pianist and vocal accompanist throughout Southern California and New York City. Specialized in classical repertoire, she holds a bachelor’s degree from CSU Dominguez Hills and master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music. She is the main accompanist for Vera Musica Ltd. under the direction of internationally acclaimed tenor, Francisco Casanova and regularly prepares and performs for their workshops and concerts.
Juhee Jeon studied violin and piano in Korea since age 4, and later graduated with a Bachelor’s in Performance major, then studied to California State University, Northridge. She has conducted for youth orchestras that performed at Oriental Mission Church and LA Korean Methodist Church. She has been teaching for over 20 years, primarily with younger children and specializes in directing music performances.
Attia Arenas B.A. Music from Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at Cal State University, Long Beach, She is a professional vocalist based in the Los Angeles area and was part of the award-winning vocal jazz ensemble, Pacific Standard Time and became a two-time world champion with the Bob Cole Chamber Choir. Attia is currently teaching keyboard, musical theatre and singing. She also sings in the OLMC Church Choir.
Eileen Vazquez has a BA in Dance in Cal State Dominguez Hills. She has danced for fifteen years beginning with Ballet Folklorico and extensive training in jazz, hip-hop, and ballet. She will to teach the students fun ways to express themselves through movement and love to dance. Dancing is a great way to stay active but most importantly it is a great to show expression! Open to all!
